Flight search today is fragmented and overly focused on price. Tools like Google Flights, airline websites, and points platforms operate in silos, forcing users to piece together information manually. While they surface options efficiently, they don’t help users answer a more important question: What is actually the best flight for my trip? In practice, the cheapest or highest-value flight often leads to a worse experience — poor arrival timing, long layovers, or severe jet lag that impacts the first few days of a trip. Aerobase rethinks flight search as a decision system rather than a listing tool. Instead of simply displaying flights, it evaluates and ranks options based on: price and points value routing and duration departure and arrival timing directional impact on jet lag This allows users to balance cost, efficiency, and recovery — making more informed trade-offs depending on their priorities. The product is built end-to-end, combining product design, frontend engineering, and custom ranking logic. The current MVP supports real flight search flows and decision evaluation, with ongoing work focused on refining ranking models, improving UX clarity, and expanding coverage across routes and programs. The core challenge is behavioral: While users clearly care about price and value, it remains an open question whether they will consistently prioritize experience-based factors like timing and jet lag. Aerobase is designed to test and validate this shift — moving from search-based tools to decision-driven systems.
